FORT WAYNE, IN, May 08 (MARKET WIRE) — Mike The Pike Productions, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: PINR) CEO/President, Mark B.Newbauer, announces the company’s selection of Dino Ladki, C.S.A., as itsCasting Director for their feature film in development, “Fish in aBarrel.” Ladki, an industry veteran trusted by names like Showtime, MTV,Fox and NBC/Universal, among others, is a valuable addition to the “Fish”team.”Dino has extensive experience working with budget-conscious independentfilms. I’m continually impressed with his ability to create a costefficient-creative-profitable Trifecta bringing names like Lindsey Lohan,Martin Landau and Julia Ormond to indie films which would otherwise bewithout name talent due to constrictive budgets,” says Newbauer. “CastingDirectors are imperative to the creative process in terms of profitabilityand the good ones, like Dino, understand the ‘now’ of the industry at anygiven time — who’s hot, who costs what and how to get them locked down, and he has the rolodex to prove it.”Ladki comments on his casting philosophy, “I take a two-pronged approachwhen generating casting ideas for roles. I not only consider if an actoris ‘right’ for a role but also what their casting does for themarketability of the film .. in the present — and in the future.
Anactor’s career trajectory is considered along with his or her talent andcorrectness for the part. Mark Newbauer is an innovator in the art ofproducing independent film. His company Mike The Pike Productions workson multiple platforms that complement and aid one another. I believe thecompany’s unique approach to bringing its projects to audiences willprove to be a winning formula.”The budget for “Fish in a Barrel” (between $3.5m-5m) will allow Ladki tohave a lot of flexibility in going after an attractive name cast for thefilm which will help ensure “Fish in a Barrel’s” worldwide success.Newbauer expects the casting process to begin in the Fall toward a 2010shooting schedule for the film.Much of the company’s work in their Film division leading up to Fall willinclude purchasing options on literary properties, mainly book rights forfilm adaptation.
