It has been slightly more than 24 hours since Judgment Day, and the current happenings of the drama that is World Wrestling Entertainment confuses me. There’s a vacated World Championship that has yet to be awarded to a superstar, old feuds being rekindled, and new management on RAW.First, we have the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero stripped it from the Undertaker as a punishment for using his trademark choke-hold submission and putting many stars out of action. She then gave the Deadman a second chance by letting him fight to reclaim the belt in a match against her fiance, Edge. However, the Undertaker won via countout, which is one of two ways that a title is not allowed to change hands by (Disqualification is the other). Now, we still have no World Champion on Smackdown, and we probably won’t until the next pay-per-view. Why not just give it to someone like everyone else has done?Next, we have old feuds being brought back to life.Sure, I love old rivalries, but JBL/Cena? As I recall, Cena defeated JBL in three straight pay-per-views: Wrestlemania 21 (won WWE Championship), Backlash 2005 (title rematch), and Judgment Day 2005, where Cena forced Layfield to utter the words “I Quit.”Now JBL is whining about how Cena eliminated him from the Fatal Four-Way at Backlash to take him out of the WWE Title picture.
Who cares? And why are they still using Cena right now? He’s supposed to be filming a new movie, and they still include him in their main event.Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Chain Gang Soldier through and through, but if the movie was the main reason he didn’t regain his title, it doesn’t make sense. With him still wrestling, he could’ve won it and then lost it 2 or 3 months later. Now, on to the most recent news As per the stipulations of his match tonight, a loss to Mr. Kennedy, RAW GM “and King” William Regal was fired, and now it looks as if former Smackdown GM Theodore Long will be taking over. All I can say is it’s about time.Having Long act as Guerrero’s personal…(well, you know what I’m getting at) was one of the weirdest things I’ve seen. Having him work for Eddie’s widow, one who hooks up with the now-former World Champ Edge, was just sickening.Long was one of SD’s best features, simply because he could always give the crowd what they want Now it looks like he’ll be up in the big leagues..
